Una apuesta peligrosa

The starting point and trigger of the story, although it is not new nor does it shine for its originality – a bet – I think it gives the lace to one hilarious situation after another, to misunderstandings that provoke laughter, fine irony and a beautiful and romantic relationship between Min and Cal.
I love the character of Min, a woman who moves away from the stereotype of being tall, blonde and thin. Min is an ordinary woman who, along with her friends Bonnie, Liza or her sister Di, is not noted for her beauty. He also has a tendency to put on weight, so he hides his curves under austere clothes that leave nothing to be seen. As Cal once said, “she dresses like she hates her body.” But he has one weakness, well two, the flashy shoes and the doughnuts.

Synopsis of Una apuesta peligrosa

Minerva Dobbs is a thirty-something with a few extra pounds who thinks happiness is a fairy tale. Cal Morrisey is a womanizer who hates commitment and invites her to dinner to win a bet. When dinner is over, each of them thinks he’ll never see the other again. But fate has other plans, and Minerva and Cal begin an almost involuntary relationship that involves a jealous ex-boyfriend, unpresentable parents, an over-intelligent cat and many doughnuts, and ends with the greatest of all bets: true love.
