Synopsis of Somos la revolución
At the age of fourteen, Joshua Wong made history. While the adults were silent, Joshua staged the first student protest in Hong Kong against the national education system, and won.
Since then, Joshua has founded Demosisto, led the Umbrella Revolution and spearheaded the protests against the extradition law in which 1.7 million people, a quarter of the country's total population, have taken to the streets of Hong Kong. His actions have drawn worldwide attention, a Nobel Peace Prize nomination and more than 100 days in prison.
This is Joshua's story told for the first time, directly from the front lines of activism. Compiling his letters written in prison and his personal reflections, Somos la revolución is Joshua's war cry for all of us to stand up and fight for our freedoms.
